997.2 door panel on 997.1?

Hi All,

Another improvement I am planning on is the replacement of the driver's door panel on my 2005 C2. The top of the full leather panel has somehow begun to separate from its mooring, creating a visible gap. Additionally, the prior owner must have had crab claws for hands as the leather and plastic pieces are scratched up.

I have located a door panel from a 2011 997.2 Turbo which, visually, appears to be the same as mine. Would this be a direct swap, or are there differences between the 997.1 and 997.2 door panels, i.e switches, etc.?

Thanks!

Pete

I'm pretty sure they are the same... just need to make sure the attachment points are located in the same place and you are golden...

The door panels didn't change much, the switches should be the same. But cabrios/targa will have a different switch configuration. If the car has memory seats, there will be a different door panel, and there is some sort of door light package (rare).

After that, just a difference in materials (color, leather/leatherette, etc.).

Ok, thanks! So, if I have black full leather, non-cabrio, etc., replacing with an identically configured 997.2 panel should not be a problem.

Thanks again, gents!
