I've had my Dectanes (front, rear, resister packs & DRL module) installed on my early 2005 997S for over a year. Bought them all from Orange Tuning (Frank) w/o any drama or issues. They (the LED lights) have worked flawlessly from day one.

Usually 5-10 minutes from starting the car the problem would incur.

Real ****ty quality from a usually reliable supplier. Disappointed indeed.
Where did you get them from? Are you running any of the resistor packs with the lights?

+1 to that. No issues with the lights or with Orange.

I have always wanted these lights, but I still think that it's a crapshoot as far as realibility. Once we get a 99%-satisfaction warranty and service, then I'll pull the trigger.

Looks like you'll have a long wait...have no idea how you're going to find out that the 99% threshold has been met. I'm 99% satisfied with mine - coming up on 2 years installed, no problems.

mine has been with no problems whatsoever. 2005, no resistors, dectane or depo.

lol, keep waiting, even OEM isn't 99%. I've had mine for two years with no issues.

I don't have any experience with Dectanes but what is the disadvantage of installing the resistors right away? It seems to make sense to simply just install the resistors right away to avoid any potential issues. What am I missing here?

I'm with you. If done correctly the worst case with the resistors I think is increased power draw (making it identical to OEM) and increased heat (making it identical to OEM).
