I had a massive coolant leak this past Sunday and the shop says that it is due to the previous owner having incorrectly installed a coolant pipe in the engine bay. One of the rubber pipes that snaps into the metal ones was incorrectly put on. As a result the aluminum pipe is damaged and must be replaced. This requires the motor to be removed to access it.

Has anyone heard of anything like this happening before?
