Sport chrono compatibility with tuned Ecu

Hello folks,

I had a discussion with Ryan Butor at Suncoast.

I wish to install to my 997.1 4s tiptronic, the sport chrono upgrade.
Thing is that my Ecu is already tuned.

The question I asked Ryan, is if the sport chrono upgrade will affect the tune of the Ecu.
Unfortunately, Ryan was not able to provide a specific answer, so we decided to address the forum members looking for feedback and advice.

Any input will be highly appreciated,

Thank you,

George

If you're talking about this

I would say yes since the kit includes software that provides "sporty tuning of the engine Motronic software" which if I understand correctly would over-write your tune. Best source of info would be your tune provider.

Hopefully you used software that allows you to go back to stock. Go back to stock, drive the car so it's "embedded" in the ECU, install the Sports Chrono, then have your tuner send new program with that option taken into account.

If you have softronic...call them. Most changes in the car after you install their software does not require retuning. That's what they tell me.
