How do I figure out my build date?

 

It's on your birth certificate...

Ask mom & dad?
You can get a certificate from Porsche for bout $100.
Includes all options at time of sale as well as sale price, vin, engine & tranny serial numbers.

 

Should be a sticker on the lower portion of the driver side door with month and year of production.

 

Porsche Dealer Service Department should be able to retrieve build date from car's computer

I am trying figure out which IMS bering I have. Can you tell by the VIN?

 

Not officially, but Rennlist has a thread that seems to identify the switch over by VIN from querying owners. Edit not by VIN, but by engine number. I'm searching for the thread... here it is:

basically claims Feb 25th build data was the switch over.
