I have a hard time believing your whole story. Perhaps it is the way you write and express yourself. As the consumer you are the one deciding to buy or not buy a given car. If you fail to do your homework, research and due diligence then you have only one person to blame....yourself.
If you had/have issues with your car and the transaction is still recent, you need to call and speak with your salesperson to try to resolve it. If that does not work then the sales manager and so on. Finally, PCNA Customer Service if all else fails. Are you a PCA member, there is another way to express your frustration.
I wish you well but suspect there is a lot more to this story than you have shared.
exactly.... and if "lot damage" happens.. they may at first attempt a denial. up to you to get what is due you. if you're diligent, that is. lol. i once got a brand new bi-xenon lamp assembly which is probably +$1500 from a p dealer that scratched it on a service trip. they didn't damage it ( initially Originally Posted by cairo94507

So true...as evidenced by the thread last week about Pacific Porsche. Great thing about the internet is that you can tell your story without any (or all) of the facts disclosed.Originally Posted by cairo94507

It appears to me that we're experiencing a rash of 'dumping on dealers' lately. I totally agree that it's the buyer's responsibility to perform 'due diligence' when buying just about anything. Especially a high ticket item. I would have been planted on the GM's desk when the alleged detailing took a week. That would have hit every hot button I have.
The common thread in recent dealer complaints is that the incident occurred years ago and any supporting evidence (if there is any) is clouded at best.

I had two vastly different purchasing experience within a year of each other.
In 2011, I purchased my first Porsche, a lease-return CPO'ed C4S, from Beverly Hills Porsche. The experience was great. I purchased it sight-unseen, but they provided a clean Car Fax, and the PPI checked out. I was a happy camper and I still am today. It's a great car. I have only replaced pads, and a battery so far. No mechanical problems, and drives like a dream.
In 2012, I purchased a CPO'ed Audi S4 from a dealer in SLC, UT. This time, I slipped and did not check the history of the vehicle and I did not ask for an independent PPI before I signed all the paper work. Since, the car was quite boring, I decided to just sell it to a local dealer. At that point, I finally realized that the car had been in an accident before and had rear end damages. I don't know how extensive it was but it did took a chunk of change out of the trade-in value of the car. I contacted Audi NA regarding this and their CPO process and got no where pretty quickly. So, I agree, caveat emptor.

PCNA will do nothing. They will say it's a dealer issue. Believe me I know. The dealer won't care that you call them. They know they can't make them do anything.Originally Posted by '02996ttx50

I'm the OP of the Pacific Porsche nightmare thread. Once again I want to warn everyone. Things aren't always what they seem to be. I don't trust any dealer now and its sad to say. But its the truth.
I feel for you Pumpkimp. Stay strong and do some investigation. Thats how I ended up finding what I found. They do a good job in hiding the dirty work. I hope Karma is on your side and the dealer gets what they deserve. 1 month of no car sales

Not at all. It was a great price on a perfect car - solid 10.

i've never heard of or experienced any situation in which a porsche dealership involved in an escalating complaint, will not take notice or possibly even soften a stated "position" when threatened or advised you might be taking it *upstairs* to pcna.Originally Posted by 911F1

that has been my direct, if not anecdotal, experience. yours, clearly was different. i will grant you, neither is absolute. having said that, pcna has in the past closed dealerships with long term problems owing to volume of *complaints* about a particular dealership. ( though i'm sure they must be far more egregious and obvious than either of the scenarios outlined here, and also more problems than simple complaints...
however, complaints directly to pcna from customers of authorized dealerships is anathema to them both. don't believe otherwise.

i dont think you understand what im saying. i apologize as english isnt my first language. but i know what you mean, about knowing what your buying, i never said i bought a car thats been in an accident that i was never told about. what im saying is i bought a car and left it overnight at the dealership for the new car detail and somewhere between that night and the week it took them to undetail the car is when im claiming the accident occured. now if your saying i should do my due diligence everytime i leave my car at a dealer than all i can say to you sir is when should i stop doing my due diligence? thats like a never ending due diligence marathon, because i would need to take the car to a different place to make sure nothing happend at the previous place and when im finished there i would need to go to another place to make sure nothing happend at the second place and after that i would need to go find a new place to make sure nothing happend at the third place. i think i would either need to become a mechanic or atleast pay one to let me watch them perform this due diligence.Originally Posted by '02996ttx50
my point was simply if due diligence is not done as or before you walk into a large metro porsche dealership, complaining is disingenuous. if they ripped you off ( or you can prove damage, post sale ) ? rather than simply took advantage of you? you have recourse, if not? you don't. my point. sorry if my tone was dismissive. yours was a strange post, particularly with the title: "187 my dealer". i figured maybe you were gangster enough to have your car checked out fully prior to taking delivery. but be that as it may,.. good luck.

im sorry, just because you had a great experience with them doesnt make me a liar. im glad your experience was great, usually i get treated like **** at dealerships, and the first question im asked isnt which car i want to test drive, its usually how is your credit or where are your parents.Originally Posted by cairo94507

no apology necessary, but thanks. english is my first language, and i will say it has me feeling woefully inadequate of late, but that's another story, for another time. i do understand you fully and i stand by my earlier comments, and would only add, that if this supposed grievance you continue to suffer is not recent?, but rather is a tale from days gone by? then, i bid you farewell, and leave you to your own device and with the immortal words of g. bush jr: Originally Posted by pumpkimp

"there's a saying in texas,.. and probably in tennesee too;.. fool me once?.. shame on you.. fool me twice? .. umm,. won't get fooled again"
honestly, im not trying to get anyone fired and maybe all i want is an apology. but i didnt even haggle about the price and paid in full. so excuse me while i have some hatred in me. its because im korean and cheap is in the blood.
yes, it didnt happen recently, and i admit, had i never went to trade the car in, i would have never known or suspect anything. but what is recent is the discovery of the accident report. kinda like your husband cheats on you on your honeymoon and you find out 3 years later even though during the three years hes been wonderful. you cant fault that girl for being angry over something that happened long time ago.
