Took 911 for extended Trip!!!!!!!!
Last weekend I decided to use my 911 for my trip to Bryson City, NC. I live in Western MA, it was just under 900 miles each way, I was meeting a bunch of family to go trout fishing. I figured it is a 2010 and only has 3000 miles, lets get some miles on this bad boy.
First the trip was beautiful, more than half of it was on RT. 81. The 911 performed flawlessly. I fit more stuff than I ever thought I could, it amazed me. I averaged 76 MPH on the trip and got 25 MPG, not bad IMO. Oil Temp stayed right under 200 most of the time.
If anyone is worried about taking your 911 on a long trip do not worry, it was a blast, I can not think of a better all around Sports Car.

When I got back my car was Filthy, it was king of funny mostly Pick-up trucks and then me pulling in with a 911.
I agree, I bought it in January with 3000 miles and I have almost put that much on myself, I plan to drive 6-8K per yeat and that is only because I am in New England.

I am on a road trip right now. I started in Texas and went up the west coast. I am in Oregon now and drove 3,800 miles since I left about a month ago. I am planning my trip back to Texas right now.
My 08 C2S has been solid. It hasn't had a single problem. I've average 23 mpg over the trip with about 90/10 highway/city driving. I think my real average is closer to 24-25 mpg. I spent a week in San Francisco driving up some monster hills where I probably got <10 mpg.

Very cool, nice trout!
I plan on taking a trip in August, Key West, to Tallahassee, to PCB and Santa Rosa Beach, then to Montgomery Alabama for some family time and mega fishing. A friend of mine road trips with his wife in a Corvette, and she told me how they pack and seal their clothes to make room. Luckily there is a bit more room in the Porsche than a corvette.

Oh, and the trout look great. Nice pic.
I thought 25 MPG at that speed was impressive.
Wonderful testimony to a very reliable car. I love the beautiful trouts you prepared. I bet that was a hundred times better than the farm trouts we usually buy at the shops.
I also use my C4S to go sometimes on dirt roads. I always get a lot of interests from people driving big pick-up trucks and Subarus in the woods.
The 911 is very versatile indeed.
