That is one of the advantages/disadvantages of the centrifugal SC design. The power is quite a bit more on the top end. In this month's "Speed" Magazine they ran a bunch of 350Z's and suprisingly the 350Z with the Vortech SC (Centrifugal) posted the fastest 0-60 & 1/4 mile times. They said it is because of the SC's power curve it almost acts as a natural traction control. They did say that the Stillen unit (Roots/Screw type SC) would eat it for lunch in everyday street driving. Also from Sport Compact Car, they said this type of SC puts less stress on the engine as cylinder pressure is dropping (maxes at tq peak) as peak hp is acheived. might be a reason the centrifugal is used for this application. With the very high compression ratio of the 997 engine, you may not want cylinder pressure to be pushed further when it is at it's tq. peak.
