Inverting PDK in manual mode

Good morning all,

I moved over from an E92 M3 with DCT gearbox to a PDK transmission. When in manual mode, it is very strange for me to have to push up to go up in gears and pull to go down. It makes more sense to have to pull to go up and push to go down. Does anybody know if there is a way of "inverting" the PDK so it can function that way?

Thanks for any feedback.

I don't think so.

While I don't know of any way to change it, I'm completely with you on the logic esilvin. With the exception of BMW, every manu-matic/sequential gearbox I've driven/owned has the same pull back to downshift, push forward to upshift setup. It just feels so unnatural to me.

I am not sure if this is helpful for our vehicles, but Lexus drivers had the exact same complaints and TOM's, a tuner/builder for many JDM cars, developed a 'reverse shift kit.'

1. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/club...-products.html

2. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-f...tallation.html

A friend of mine with an IS-F bought this part and it was a much more natural feel. Only a 20 minute install, most of which was being careful with interior part removal.

If we can drum up enough interest maybe one of our tuners could do something similar. In the case of the Lexus it was a simple plug swap/reversal. Probably the best solution. It simply told the shift control unit that up was now down and vice-versa. Pretty simple and required no visits to the dealer or software modifications.

I will contact some of my old JDM contacts and see if I can find anything else...

Best,
C.H.

Check out this thread. Looks like Porsche realized they made a mistake and are fixing the issue. Hopefully a retro mod will make its way down to us mere mortals
