Please help me decide on my first 997
Thank you so much guys for your important inputs, I think you guys make me feel smarter about buying choices. Before I ask these questions, I have spent countless hours reading a about 997.1 IMS issues and also it's fitting my budget a lot better. Tphan the car is not CPO but I will purchase service contract from Costco for $3500 for 6 years or 60000 miles. It should be very well cover for the next 6 years of stress free and the best part is the warranty is fully refundable if I resale the car later.

Phew, all the years of waiting to pull the trigger on the dream car, I finally get my 2008 Porsche 911 S Cabriolet. She has a lot more options than I initially thought and the sport shifter is a good surprise. Anyway, I wanna shout out to all of the people who had put their thoughts and advises to help me narrow down to my final decision. Much mahalo and I will post some pics later. And yes it is $500 deductible for 6 years 60,000 miles whichever come first from Costco for $3535
Congrats!
In regard to 997.1 IMS issue, IMO it is all up to how the car is care for. I own a 94 RX7 and everyone said it a ticking time bomb. Not, bought it new in 1994, sold in 2009, zero issue. However the rotary was a PITA driving Texas summer months...HOT!

Congrats! Nice car. Great color. Same year as mine, although I have a non S.
I am developing a bit of color envy. I love my black car but keeping it clean is such a PITA. Nxt will be white or blue.

I really like the white, I spent at least 8 hours detailing the exterior and interior also clean the engine bay, now it is flawless and looks brand new. I am debating whether or not putting on Seibon CF lips, side skirt and TA style CF spoiler but the car look good just the way it is. Any comment? Thanks
This by far the most fun I have for my new ride, I have had 350z, 335 BMW coupe, M3, and M6. This car blow all of them away as far as fun and built quality. M6 has 500 HP but big and clunky and SMG sucks.

Very nice, I always has thing for white sport car, missed my white 95 Cobra R.
Have a set of Carrera S II wheels for sale soon if interested.
