How would one know if the spoiler is working?....i.e coming up at speed? I realize you can manually raise it by pushing the button on the lower dash yet I've wondered how I can tell its up for sure? My car is a 2006 C4S

 

along the same topic, what speed does it come up at?

i know on the cayman its like 85mph and on the panamera its only like 55mph

 

On the carrerra's it's 75mph.

 

Only way to tell is to have someone follow you or stick something on it that you can see from your rearview mirror (e.g. flag or antenna etc.)

 

Trust.

 

I believe that if it dosen t come up the dash will tell you.

 

It comes up at 75mph. An easy way to tell if it's working is to put a piece of painters tape between the spoiler and decklid and drive 75mph. If the tape becomes loose it works.

 

You can feel the massive downforce!!

 

i remember in the cayman if i had the radio and a/c off, i could actually hear the spoiler come up, i wonder if this is the case with the carreras

 

Here's a suggestion, I've done it once or twice Drive beside on the passenger side a really clean dark colored car in the highway. Preferably a black one. Make sure you're speedo is on 75mph. Estimate the angle and take a quick glance. You should be able to see the spoiler whether it's up or down.

 

Sun shadows on left or right, worked for me.

Then I had a friend video beside me in another car..lol

 

Find a mini van or a black truck and drive next to it the shadow will show

 

Spoiler up at 75mph/120kph, down at 50mph/80kph.
Also raises on engine overtemp.
You can put a GoPro on the back window or some have put a temp flag on it and you'll see it
in the rear view mirror when the Viagra kicks in.

 

Does it matter to drive it in the ALWAYS UP POSITION? by pressing the manual button?
Can you program to lift up at lower speeds (like 65 instead).

Dont drive like that lol one angry porsche guy will pull the spoiler off and hang it on there office wall. Leave it down. Or get yourself a aerowing
