Do I have PSE?

Hi all,

Just joined this community, and this is my first post! Nice to meet you all.

I've recently bought a 2006 C2S with Chrono Sports Package Plus, but I'm not sure if it's equipped with the sports exhaust option.

I understand that since the PSE (in installed) would be activated by the Chrono Sports button, there isn't a separate button (with the twin-pipe-tip logo) for it. When I activate the Sports mode, I do not hear any different and it doesn't sound like a sport exhaust.

Is there a visual / electronic way to confirm if the PSE is installed?

Thanks in advance.

Psymon

Bullseye7 is infamous around these parts
No button (with the twin pipe tip logo), no pse. Neither the S or having Sport Chrono + means PSE is included.

Thanks, Bullseye7.

The dealer said the PSE had been added as retrofit by the previous own. Is there a way to check and confirm apart from the sound of the exhaust?

Thx.

PSE's have two outlet pipes with dual tips while standard exhaust has only one outlet pipe with dual tips. Also the PSE tips have different diameter between the inner and the outer pipe. You should hear the difference in sound when Sports Mode is ON with PSE's.

It's possible that the PSE was installed without hooking up the valve control. In which case, PSE will be open all the time. That's exactly what I have on my car.

Thanks, Romy.

This is the pic of the outlet pipe joining the tips. So it doesn't look like it has the PSE, right?

Thanks again.

I might consider this (of the Tubi exhaust) as my first mod ;-)

Also search for Gundo Hack mufflers. It's the most inexpensive way to improve the sound of your car. It sounds almost the same as the PSE. I had them before I installed the PSE's.

Enjoy your new ride!!!

Thanks for the tip.

The Gunda Hack looks very interesting. Any reason why you still switched to PSE after having done the hack?

I was also informed similarly when I purchased my 997. They said it was a PSE retrofitted, so I had no button to enable PSE. However, when I testdrove it, it definitely sounded different from other 997's without PSE installed. I looked underneath after purchase and found out it actually had a fabspeed muffler installed. Have a look underneath your car, you may have some aftermarket muffler there.

Just the OCD in me. Couldn't get over the idea that I'm running on butchered mufflers.
