28 mpg - really?

I read with amazement when other posters write that they get 28 mpg in highway driving.
When I cruise at 75 mph I get 22 ~ 24 mpg the most (2009 C4S - PDK in 7th gear)
Am I the only one or what are you mpg figures?

i daily drove my 997 for a year putting 25k+ miles..

i averaged 28~29 mpg when driving conservative.
that's starting the car from where ever i am, getting to the freeway, then driving.

if i reset my "TRIP" while driving 70~75 on the freeway i've gotten up to 32.5 mpg.
30.5+ is average.

2007 C2

oh, after the X-pipe and PSE the numbers were are all ruined. but still worth it

Seems a bit high but great if your getting it.
Highest I've ever acchieved is according to the computer (however accurate that is)
is 26 mpg (9 litres per 100km)
And that's behaving of course.

Perhaps the 28 mpg posters are driving a C2. The C2 has better aerodynamics than the wide rear C4/C4S and the C2/C2S has lower drive train losses (no front differential, etc.).

I have a c2s, DFI and MT and get better than the c4s posts, but maybe a bit less than 28 as an average highway number. I have gotten 28 MPG s but not at 75 MPH.

About the same for me with a manual tranny in 6th and cruise control on. Maybe a bit less.

'11' GTS on cruise at 65 mph I can get 28 mpg. Take it to 70 and I drop into the 25 range. The quoted numbers are from trips between Cincinnati and Columbus.

This also depends on how much alcohol is blended in the gas.

My mileage on long highway trips was usually 26.4-26.8 (only the highway part) at about 75+
If all the roads were flat, it would have been better.

Not only do I never get over 20, I really don't give a rat$ a$$.

Happy to see all the greenies with hybrids and electrics lowering the carbon footprint so I can run and gun as needed.

Well, I'm careful, but hardly ever care what my mpg numbers are in the turbo cab.

Thanks guys, just wanted to know if something's wrong with my car (or my right foot). I guess my aftermarket rear wing also won't help with mpg ;-)

Strange, C2 manual DFI, on shell power fuel, after a 30mile journey early morning motorway doing 56-60 34 mpg. If I went that slow in normal rush hour I get strange looks! On the way home same route doing 70 and maybe a bit more drops to 27mpg.
