I had an exhaust rattle and I found one of the exhaust hangers was cracked. I tac welded it but the rattle was still there. Upon further examination look what I found.
Completely broken off the pipe, I ran a couple of beads around the crack and hope for the best. I broke off all the header to cat bolts so I am waiting for them to come in from Porsche to finish putting it back together.

 

Weird. How would this have happened?

 

Most likely from running over the rumble strips on a track day at Watkins Glenn. I have never welded SS with my mig, I changed the wire but couldn't get the exact correct shielding gas, so my beads are a little messy. I did grind down everything smooth but then went over it again to put some extra material where it snapped.
