Smile The Answer is Yes

Hi Guys. Let me take the guess work out of this. The short answer is, Yes - we would make a grille if we received enough interest. The longer answer is that we would need a minimum order for 20 grilles to proceed, and your 6 Speed discount rate would still apply.
Stay in touch with us, and we're happy to advise along the way.

How do we get a group purchase started so we can fulfill Zunsport's minimum of 20 units?

Zunsport, do we reach out to you individually and express our interest or place the order?

Thanks!

How sturdy are these grills? I bought a set from FVD and they got all mangled just from shipping them.

I can't compare to other kits but in my experience, the Zunsport one is top notch. It mounts very securely, is painted well, and the metal is very sturdy. The only reason you would go with another option IMO is cost (not that the zunsports are expensive, I think I got mine for just over $200 shipped) or because you don't want a front mount solution.

I concur - 3 years later on my 997.2 and still loving them functionally and aesthetically .. Good price, fast shipping, and high quality

+1 on the high quality of the Zunsport grilles. I installed the center grille on my 997.2 C4S about 2 years ago, and this thing is virtually bullet-proof! My C4S Cab is my daily driver in Chicago, and I throw snow tires on it in the winter to keep driving year round. This grille looks and works as well today as it did when I took it off the box, and that's after 2 harsh Chicago winters ... . Let's get a group buy together for the rear-mount side grilles so I can complete my set!

Below is the text of the email I received back. First, let me say that given the rear mounting of the grills will require removing the bumper, I will be out in terms of interest. I am just not feeling adventurous at this point - probably not that complicated, but I'm not going down that road.

With that said, if someone is interested in now taking the lead in pulling this together for the other 6peed members, go ahead and PM me and I will send the contact info of the person i corresponded with. there are also a couple of docs (related to the "custom build package" mentioned) they sent that I can forward.

We do offer a rear fitting solution whereby you would be required to remove your bumper.
Please see attached the “ Custom Build Package “ we can supply.
All we need from yourself is the size of mesh you require ( normally more than one piece ) to cover the apertures
You wish to protect.
We have just completed a Group Buy with a Porsche members club in the UK and the way it
was handled was as follows :
*A minimum quantity of 20 grille sets was agreed .
*each member selected the product they required from the range available.
*we received each members details,Name, address,e mail and telephone number.
*prior to the product being shipped individual payments were made by Credit Card or PayPal
*Promotion Code to be issued Specific to 6 Speed Members and may only be used to Purchase Porsche Products
** Discount Given 20%

Look forward to receiving your comments !

Dang, I have to say that the bumper-removal requirement is a deal-breaker for me as well. I loved the ZunSport ease of installation for the center grille, but I don't love these side grills enough to encourage me to do a DIY remove-and-replace of my front bumper just to pop these bad boys on.... Did "mdaverey" from the earlier post have to remove his bumper for his rear-install, or did he find a different installation method? <CALayer: 0x16891600>

I installed grilles from outside because I liked better the ZunSport design, size of mesh, forums feedbacks and I'm not a big fan of silver blades. I have tried later the rear bumper removal following DIY guides. Then from there I tried the front bumper removal. With the tips and DIY guides handy it is not that difficult and it should not prevent making the right choice of grilles in my opinion. Not only you get the grilles you prefer but you get to know how to clean and maintain properly this area and the radiators intakes after removing the front bumper. And you also could try the mod of adding a 991.1 sport lip :-)

For reference, my local body shop is charging $50 for install with bumper removal and cleaning the radiators.
