I have to replace the rear tires as the inside edges are worn to unsafe conditions. The front ones look ok. I bought the car used and it came with the Hankook v12. I have no problem with the brand, but I see it's a cheaper brand and have nothing else to compare it to. I have searched for information online, but as tire brands change from year to year I was hoping to get some more recent opinions.

they will be on 19 inch rims, summer tires, I live in South Florida and will never travel past the mason dixon line during the winter. I have a 2007 911 carrera coupe. I ordered the replacement tpms sensors already, just not the tires yet.

any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

 

I have Michelin pilot super sports. Quieter and better than the Michelin PS2

 

I just changed out my rear Ventus V12's after just over 10000 miles. I like the tires, and I can't complain about the lower cost - $500 installed for a pair of rears. I don't track my car but I do go for spirited drives on the backroad twisties and I've never had an issue. Had Bridgestone's on my OEM wheels - they were loud. It was so much quieter with the V12s when I got my current wheels.

PSS get good reviews here too - I think either tire would be fine, your preference as your guide. Thing is, if you switch brands, it would be better switch out all 4. Having different brands on front/rear have resulted in funny car behaviors mentioned here on this forum.

 

thanks, I just ordered the michelin pilot sports for the rears. When I have some extra dough I'll get them for the front, and that is not far away so shouldn't cause too much trouble. I'll probably do it in a month or two.

only for about a month or so until we get some more cash in. It's slow time, and I won't be hitting the highway anyway, just town driving.

 

Bought mine C2S with Hankook EVO tires, to me they were just fine, drove in rain once, seem fine, handle well dry at 120 mph. No problem...specially at $800.00 set new.

However 2 wks ago i swap them for Michelin PSS....our grocery getter 97 Acura TL wears Michelin. It's a family thing we love Michelins

The 305 PSS is one phat tire...love the look.

I run V12's on both of my 911's (85 and 05) and absolutely love them. They are not the absolute best performing tire out there but for street and occasional track use they are fantastic.

The one thing I found out after doing my suspension modifications is that they do not take kindly to camber on street use. There is a ton of tread in the centers but less on the anterior portions so you really need to stand them up for street use.

Also, they often have a $80 rebate when you purchase 4 which is great.
