Go to Ebay...find them for 50-60$ each.....easy. Did this earlier this year. 433Mhz I believe is what you need

Not having replaceable batteries is actually not a major problem.. It probably eliminates a host of issues related to the way the battery is installed. If not serviceable the unit can be sealed up tight to elemental influence. If you need to be able to get the battery out, now there are parts that more easily come apart or allow things in.

If you replace the sensors whenever you put new tires on the rims near the end of life of the batteries, you will probably be just fine and the cost is mainly the new sensors, which should not be cost prohibitive.

I asked this question in the Turbo forum but maybe someone here knows:

I have a 2009 Turbo and wondering if a TPMS from a 991 will work since they are both 433 MHz?

I would think that if the carrier frequencies are the same, - then its compatible. The sensors dont know or care what car they are on.

Which has me wondering, if two like cars drive side-by side (close together) how long till the TPMS systems freak out from seeing 6 sensors (as two wheel wells will see 2 sensors each on each car)

My warranty expires next month, but I had the warning light again and I did not try to reset them. I took to the dealership in Englewood NJ. They replace all 4 of them under warranty FYI.

Being that TPMS are installed at the same time when 1 stops working the rest are sure to follow. To find out which TPMS is not working you can go to a tire shop and have the wheels scanned to see what 1 is not transmitting.

Every time I try to purchases these from your site the shopping cart crashes.

1. There are 2 Mhz for both cars. Call the deal with your VIN # to make sure what MHz you require.
2. If the 991 is the same year and same Mhz it will work.

Does refresh rate matter? Aparently the 991 sensors won't work because they have a different refresh rate even though they and 997s are both 433Mhz.

It might. Depends on what refresh rate means.

In order to extend the battery life, the system may have the battery report pressures for some fixed time after starting up and after that, the sensors only report in at a fixed window interval - say every 10 seconds or so. If the sensors are coming on every 7 seconds and the car is looking for them at 10 second intervals, they sensor and car may never see each other and even though the carrier frequency is correct, the transmitter/transceiver are never turned on at the same time. That applies, IFF the refresh rate is what I'm interpreting it to mean, and the system works as I'm just imagining it might.

I'm trying to understand this. I just changed tires on my 09'
Tpms read normal psi numbers before
Now it says +9 fronts. + 2 rears,
It was -9 and negative 4, with flat tire light on. how can it be negative psi???
Then I saw a post about zeroing
What do you do? Zero all 4 and drive it until the psi reads back out?
I can't find the reading just the + /- numbers are showing
Thanks

I had a problem when my summer tires that I took off were too close to the car. The computer was picking up too many tpms sensors.
