Wrap your socket in electrical tape to prevent scratching the wheels. Impact wrenches are notorious for creating scuff marks.

Thank you ALL. I picked up a .19mm socket and taped it up. Saturday I'm going WAX crazy on the inside dish of my wheels.

Talking socket size and how much to tighten

I own a 997.1 C4S w/19" lobster claw wheels. I have a 1/2in Craftsman torque wrench and use a 1/2in drive 6 point 19mm deep socket. Tape the end with electrical tape to protect your rims. 94 ft/lbs is the OEM setting. It is recommended to torque in 2 stages. First time at 50%, followed by 100%.

Ideally you should get one of the protected sockets like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PO-A120029-1...-/261540511719 that I use on my car.

Gary B... I use a Chicago pneumatic wrapped set like storm rune suggested, but bought mine on Amazon for $19/shipped. comes with three sizes and anodized 3 different colors. a must have.

Im running a mild spacer setup on my car and always over torque by 5 lbs or so.
