Home Mechanic Service Invoice

This could be a case of too much free time or too much obsession. I wanted to keep my home records in a similar fashion to dealer invoices, so I made this .xls sheet for recording my home maintenance. I plan on attaching all the receipts and oil analysis, but I thought this made a good cover sheet. In the future I plan to be more detailed (measuring brake pads and tire tread). This one was for a 20k service, the major was done at 33k for some reason.

Let me know if you have any feedback on formatting or things to add/change.

What a reasonable price for service. An oil change over here at my Porsche Indy runs at least $300...

Perfect. When you are ready to share please let me know. I'm keeping really good records and some version of this would consolidate my paperwork. The one change I'd make is to make it more obvious that the work is not done by a dealership. Perhaps keep the Porsche Logo but lose the "by ...." it's going to be a problem for some bean counter somewhere

That's because he did it himself and created his own invoice for his records.

good idea... I am already concerned that I do not have oil receipts for my first change.
No receipts for brake fluid during flush. Even though I keep records the "receipt" part is weak for me....

Ouch, that's embarrassing. I should pay more attention to the title of the thread!

Great job on the invoice! I always keep my receipt for the parts I purchase but never thought of creating an invoice for myself.

One thing you might want to consider is the "Labor" hour. The amount of time it took you to purchase everything and time it took you to do thoses changes. It just another nice to have record to have in the invoice.

Obsessive - Compulsive Disorder defined. But a hobby is hobby I guess. While I do my own maintainance my record keeping is sadly lacking in comparison. Certainly a novel approach.

I forgot to say, I thought about adding a labor column, but I am so slow and methodical it would be an embarrassment to list how much time it actually took

If the OP is still monitoring this thread, I was wondering if you could send me a copy of the Excel worksheet for the service invoice you created? I've been thinking of doing this myself, but your's is nice. I tried to PM you, but I don't have enough posts here. Please PM me, and I'll reply with an email address.

Thanks in advance.

Kit

Lol, definitely not. I wanted to see if swapping fluid would improve the early morning notchy shifts. For the record it didn't really help.

I think I replied to everyones PM, if not hit me again and I will.

wcc11, it's not letting me PM. I get this error: "wc11 has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her. If you are trying to send this message to multiple recipients, remove wc11 from the recipient list and send the message again."
