Help w/Porsche Search :-)

Well this weekend, my wife and I were about to pickup a 2010 C4S w/PDK and the deal didn't go through It was probably the best for us because the car was NOT spotless and clean, as the current owner indicated. Tons of scratches, bumper had a ton of scrapes, interior smell like soup

So would love to get some help from fellow members.
Budget is $60-80K.

We're looking for 2009+ C4S w/PDK, < 15K miles, prefer lighter exterior color (red okay).

Also I realize a '08/'09 Turbo w/higher mileage around 20-30k miles is within budget as well.

What do you guys think between '09+ C4S versus '08 Turbo?

BIG thank you in advance for any leads!!!

.

Turbo. Never heard a Porsche owner comment that his 911 has too much power

Good point.

But on the '09 C4S, the PDK is much better than '08 Turbo Tiptronic?
I wish I can get manual but this car is for the both of us and she won't go for manual

I never thought I would own an auto Porsche - EVER. Just picked up an 09 PDK and have to say, I do not miss the 6 speed at all. I vote for 09. Just make sure to get sport chrono.

For 997.2 w/PDK... in terms of with or without Sports Chrono, is there a significant difference? Remind me, what that adds on PDK besides a nice clock?

It adds sport and sport plus buttons that alter throttle response and shift times. Takes the car from cruiser to sports car. Basically, makes it a Porsche.

Definitely drive one before buying.

I think it also depends on what vehicle you are coming from. I had an E46 M3 so the power of my C4S with the added handling capabilities was a great upgrade. Going from an SMG to a 6MT also increased the fun factor. A friend of mine has a Shelby and his future Porsche will be a turbo to help satisfy his power needs. Just make sure you and your wife will not feel underwhelmed with your new ride.

Good luck with your search! Its great fun to car hunt.

We really like the R8. Fun car and definitely gets noticed. It only has 5k miles on it. There is just something about the Porsche - long standing tradition, performance, reliable and beautiful shape :-)

Has anyone added Sport & Sport plus buttons to a PDK car? You don't get the wart but you get the same functionality right?
