New (to me) 997

Picked this up after saving for years, very excited. I actually got it about 2 months ago from Jim Ellis in Atlanta. Car has 60k miles on it, but came with a fresh crate motor from Germany and a new clutch. Hoping it lasts for years. C2S with PASM and a 6 speed and I think that's it for options.

Don't worry I have already replaced the side markers for clears. Next near term plans include tint, gundo, and a vanity.

After that eibach springs and some wheels.

Congrats on the beautiful ride! I'm with you on adding the right parts to your ride to make it your own. I have my clear side markers on order now. Probably will change the stock exhaust next year. Its gonna be a fun journey to customization! Tint will add a nice touch to your car. Don't forget to join the PCA as well. Welcome again!

The fresh motor is really what had me go after this car after looking at many others. The dealer even had a slight discount on this one compared to others because of it. I personally thought it was more valuable, but it does make me wonder what the p.o. was doing that blew up his motor in 60k miles.

I have all the rework documentation from the dealer though so I know the work was done right and the new motor has a 2 year warranty.

Im not 100% sure if it was IMS or not. My car is 2008 and I know those can have the issue but less often. The service order says PO brought it in for a loud clacking noise at idle (sound like piston slap to me). The order says one head was removed and excessive scoring was noted and I believe a connecting rod was cracked. Ill pull out the paper tonight and give the exact paper work. Nowhere does it direclty say IMS or RMS however.
