2006 Carrera S - Daytime Lights Found On This Morning When Car Was Parked & Locked

When I went out to my garage this morning, I noticed that the daytime lights (fog lights/marker lights/tail lights (all except the head lights)) were on. I parked and locked the car 12 hours earlier and double-checked that the **** was in the home position. Fortunately the car started right up and showed no warnings on the cluster. I've had the car for 9 months and this has never happened before. Any idea as to why these lights came on over night? Thanks!

Have you tried to duplicate the problem? Maybe don't leave the switch in the "home" position.

This happened to me on our '10 C4S…..due to operator error. I hardly ever drive my wife's car and I moved it at night and turned on the headlights and just assumed (yeah I know…) they would turn off like my DD…..they didn't. I got up in the AM and the parking lights were all on. Thank God for LED's - car started right up and lesson learned.

Meaning that your alarm went off during the night. that's why the lights are on.

By home I meant straight up and down (off). I bet the alarm did go off. Makes sense as there was a thunderstorm last night. If the alarm going off causes the lights to go on (and stay on) that's probably it!

not sure if this is it but, my previous 06 boxster home setting left the driving lights on. my new 997.2 has a delay for the driving lights. could it be you left it in the wrong setting?

I just double-checked and it was the home position (12 o'clock). Maybe it is better practice to turn it to the left (11 o'clock) on the solid dot?

As "fragile" as the Porsche batteries are when I turn the lights off I want to make sure they are all the way off. I've never used the home feature.

DRL with Sport Chrono - user can set on/off. DRL without Sport Chrono - dealer can set on/off...except in Canada - always on.
