'Bout to take first plunge. Anything to lookout for?

Well, I think I'm going forward (finally) with my first car (P), first convertible. Started out leaning toward an '06 or 7 S with a manual. Maybe an '08. But after reading about all the changes and many of your suggestions, I've added some $ and am going with an '09 (base) with some good options. It's a PDK, blk/grey, sports chrono plus, PASM, 19" wheels, bose/nav, heated/cooled seats, heated MF steering wheel. I can't quite bring myself to jump up dollar wise to an '09 S for this first "go 'round." I'm hoping not to regret the PDK vs manual thing too. It's all been phone and the net so far. Any last thoughts or things to look out for when I go for the test drive and real deal? Thanks in advance!

You can't go wrong with any 997 models, may be early 2005 are little more prone to IMS issues but not all 997.1 are susceptible to it. Early 997.2 are very nice upgrade exterior and Interior. I say enjoy your 997 and put on many happy miles. Options are only cater to your liking and opinion.

I was in a similar situation. Originally couldn't afford the 911 I wanted so settled on a 987 Boxster S. Fast forward a year and change and was back on the 911 hunt. After going back and forth for a while ended up with a well optioned 09 S w PDK.

Sounds like you have some nice options on that one. I would jump on it!

Btw - vented seats are a must.

I am in favor of an S, manual, coupe....but that's me!
As many have said, 997's are great cars, the most important thing for you to consider is "buy the seller" is just as important as " buy the car". My best pre owned cars, all types, have been bought from honest private or dealer sellers, who answer all questions, and hide nothing. Get. PPI, and a DME rev range report, and be patient. The hunt is also fun! Good luck ! Keep us posted.
