Q about 997 TPMS

My 2009 997 3.8 came without the (TPMS), so the question is, can I fit one now? if so, how about third party TPMS, like there?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/251389771313?lpid=82

Thanks

Aftermarket should be ok. I've read from this forum this one works.

So can I fit them on my car even though my car did not have TPMS before? Thanks

No there's more to it than just installing the sensors. Not exactly sure what it all takes but the computer system must be programmed for it.

You can do anything but at a cost...TPMS requires sensors in the wheels (easy) and sensors in each wheel well with the requisite wiring to get the report in the dash OBC (more difficult). Surprised that 2009 doesn't have TPMS - required in the US but I guess not required in ROW models.

No it is optional here. So I can Program the computer but don't need to replace it, I'll check what will that cost. Thanks.

I think you will need the wheel sensors, wheel well antennas, and the TPMS control module. Then the wiring for all that. Plus getting it programed with a PWIS.

Yes that sounds more logical. I'll see what the dealer says next time I go. Thanks.

What's wrong with checkimg your pressure manually once a month and use the money for useful mods?
