That's a fair deal. Low miles for a 2006. I'd subtract for a yellow car but if that's your thing more power to you!

If it's a good deal depends on:

- confirmed accident free and dealer willing to put that in writing
- no repaint or partial repaints (front bumper is okay)
- no over-revs in category 3 - 6 (did you scan engine ecu?)
- engine operating hours in line with mileage shown on cluster and in line with airbag hours

Basically you need a knowledgable independent third party carry out a PPI.

The cheapest car is very often still too expensive for what you're getting but the most expensive is not necessarily the best.

Don't take chances, carry out due dilligence.

Regards,
CF

DO a search on DME scan and you'll find a wealth of information.

Here is a sample with notes:

'' '' '' '' '' range 3 52 1193.2h
'' '' '' '' '' range 4 10 1193.2h
'' '' '' '' '' range 5 2 1193.2h
'' '' '' '' '' range 6 -- -------

Current operating hrs: 1284.200

It's a 2 owner car, second owner purchased it from the dealer who is currently selling the car and had it serviced there as well. Any opinions are welcome. Thank you.

This car has had one badly-missed downshift and fairly recently by the look of the data. Most cars seem to average around 30mph over a lifetime. This example has done 32000 miles in 1284 hours so it has averaged 24.9 mph. Given the same average, the gearchange was missed at about 29700 miles.

The 6 overrev ranges are:
Range 1: 7300-7500 RPM
Range 2: 7500-7700 RPM
Range 3: 7700-7900 RPM
Range 4: 7900-8400 RPM
Range 5: 8400-9500 RPM
Range 6: 9500-11000 RPM

The numbers recorded in the overrev data are numbers of ignitions that took place whilst the engine was in that rev range. A 6 cylinder motor fires 3 cylinders per revolution so the engine spent 2/3rds of one revolution in Range 5 (or about 0.005 of a second) 3 1/3rd revolutions in Range 4 (or about 0.025 of a second) and 17 1/3rd revolutions in range 3 (about 0.14 of a second).

So whilst the engine was over-revved quite hard, it was for such a short amount of time that it probably won't have hurt the motor at all.

I think its a good deal. I just paid 50K for a black on beige c2s with aerokit and 14K miles. I decided not to get an aftermarket warranty...

not a bad price for a low milage car.... if it had full leather that would have been fantastic value.

I believe prices will fall further in 30-60 days and you will have more selection as more cars go up for sale. End of January through Feb shows the lowest prices with a slight increase or stabilization in March. This is based on my experience buying a 2009 C2S last year.... closed the deal last day of January.

Coupla things to think about:

1 - Jan 1, the car is one year older - this is a big deal.
2 - Sales for sports cars slow in the deepest winter months, particularly if it is cold and snowy which it has been this year
3 - Best place to look is northern US cities given 2 above... as you are experiencing with a Cleveland OH car. I purchased mine from a Volvo dealer in Minnesota.
4 - Never fall in love with the first girl at the dance. By waiting and doing my homework, I found an S with less miles and less money than a base I was about to pull the trigger on two months prior.
5 - Know what you want. It is hard to compare prices/years/miles/models.... especially when your emotions are involved. Decide on what you want and what you are flexible on....

Peace
Bruce in Philly
