I purchased the ctek 3300 with cigarette lighter adapter from amazon, $65 delivered. Came in yesterday and 997 charging nicely, I feel a lot better now with the single digit temps we're having in the north east this winter. It comes with a direct connect (eyelets) adapter and a clamp adapter so very easy to hook up however you want.

i am using the classic old school porsche charge-o-mat (i think original). you can probably find them for 50 bucks shipped on ebay.

there are varying opinions on the internet regarding which one is better (newer charge-o-mat-II-ctek3300 vs older), but its been fine on my car (i also lend it to my buddy with a 997TT every other week)... and our winters are pretty bad (freezing!)

Does anyone know if the ctek 3300 will charge a Shorai lithium battery? Someone asked me this today and I had no clue.

Hi guys,

Just got the CTEK myself for my 997 Turbo and plugged it in, so far so good!

Random question - Are you all just running the wire under the door jam? Seems to be ok, but wasn't sure if that was ideal or just cracking the window slightly open to run the wire out.

Thanks in advance for the tip!

Door jam here... no issues. Only issue for me is remembering to unplug it w/o driving away with it in the car...haha. (hasn't happened yet)

Same here, between door and door sill. No problems on the 997.1 C4S. Works great.

If you look at the bottom of the door, the rubber gasket has a slit near the rear of the door. I've read these were made to compress so you can pass the charge cable through the door.

Same one we use. My wife got one of these from when she had a 99 Boxster.

I prefer Deltrans Battery Tender. I have it on all my vehicles. Need to get an adapter for the 997.2

CTEK makes a special charger for lithium. The 3300 and 7002 are for lead-acid only.

I bought this Schumaker at Walmart for $20 and it works flawlessly.

Left it on continuously for 6 weeks while I was traveling, and came back to a fully charged and happy car.
