That's what divorce is for. I haven't had to ask for approval for any of my car purchases (usually 2 per year) or mods (~100 per year) for over 5 years now. : Of course I have had to deal with attorneys (and many 5 figure bills), custody fights, paying massive amounts of child support, and an ex-wife that's just a plain old beyotch... So I'm not sure who wins this battle...

It's late and hence I'm drawing a blank, but is the 997 sport design steering wheel the same basic upgrade as the sport steering wheel on the 996? My Turbo has the 996 sport steering wheel which is smaller and thicker than the normal wheel, and having owned a 996 before with a regular wheel, and driven multiple 997 with them too, the sport steering wheel is a very noticeable improvement. It helps I'm 6'4 with huge hands so a thicker wheel just feels better, but overall the improvement is almost intangible and just results in a car that drives better, especially for a performance enthusiast who tracks their car or even just drives it very aggressively. I've only found a handful (literally, just a couple) of 996 cars that even have this option, and most people don't even know it exists. Not sure how common or different it is on the 997.

Otherwise just a simple bolt on. Hydraulics work just as it would on a stock. Rods just clear the 997.2 airbox. Shout out to therock88 and AZTurbo from the turbo forum for help with the airbox measurements and chris sterling for the paint job.

Thanks for the kind words and the biz..

Great mod. Appreciate the post. I am in the market for a rear spoiler to complement the GT3 front bumper I am adding on my c4s coupe. Porsche stopped making the Aerokit rear, so not an option . . . not particularly a fan of the look anyway. GT3 Rear a bit too much all around, so I am glad the turbo deck fits. Just confirming that you had to buy the fan for the Turbo deck because the one from your 997.2 C2 didn't fit, the vent tube extension for the same reason, and the wiring harness? RE the harness, you used the one from a 997.2 turbo or you had to take the one from your C2, and fit it to the Turbo deck? Just want to be clear on the extras I will need. A few available on eBay with varying components included.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi can I ask what exactly did you do to fit the snorkels because I did the exact same mod. I put a 997 turbo lid with wing on , but I had to use the the turbo snorkels because I changed the intake to fabspeed . I would really like to put the factory air box back but don't know how to fit the original carerra S snorkels. please advise. thanks
