Question on 3rd party warranty from dealer
Question on 3rd party warranty from dealer
So today I found out that the warranty that I bought extra for my CPO is from a 3rd party. So here are the details, what I'm wondering is, is this warranty worth having or generally i'd never use it because it's so limiting.
My CPO warranty is good for up to 100k miles or 2016, my 3rd party warranty through fidelity is good for up to 72k miles or 2019.
Does anyone have experience with these 3rd party fidelity warranties on their CPO? For some reason when I got it, I thought i was extending my porsche warranty. It turns out thats not the case, so wondering what other peoples experience is, especially considering this warranty cost quite a bit of money to extend my warranty 3 years. The 72k milage limitation isn't a big deal since I only put on around 5-7k per year and my car only has 25k miles on it atm.

Cpo cannot be beat, no deductible and within reason everything is covered
I purchased a fidelity warranty for my c2s. Within 2 months I took the car in for the typical RMS repair. Paid $100 and it was a done deal. Work was completed by a Porsche dealer
That being said I paid $3,600.00 for the warranty and to date claimed the equivalent of $1,300.00
I'm pleased so far, I was surprised they did not replace my IMS whilst they were in there
Why don't you sell back the fidelity warranty?
Mike

The quality of a Fidelity warranty is dependent on the quality of your dealership's service department. Fidelity will want to deny most claims, but a good service department can get them to cover a lot. Not as good as CPO of course, but if your dealer is good, Fidelity is one of the best third party warranties you can get.
