Will TPMS affect PASM?
Will TPMS affect PASM?
First post...!
Long story short... Bought a 997 S (2008) with H&R suspension ( mod. 29188-1). This one says on the H&R site that is "ok with Pasm". TPC indicates that it is learning and will not read the left tires. It also continuously indicates that PASM is not working. Sport mode will activate but when the car moves PASM error will come up. Today I noticed that if I press the SPORT and do not clear the TPC error, PASM would stay "working"... This is very strange....
Has anyone else has had a similar scenario?
PS. I have the original springs and am thinking of installing them back, just want to know if I should go with the originals or keep the H&R and look for something else....
Great forum, keep it up...!

Agree that the TPMS problem is unrelated. The batteries in the pressure sensors are good for about 6 years, so the timing is about right for replacement in a 2008. Search for posts on "TPMS replacement" for the name of a company that sells replacement sensors that work well and are a fraction of the OEM part's price. I'm hesitant to post the vendor's name since they appear to no longer be a forum sponsor.
As for the PASM error message and the strange interaction with the TPMS error messages- Are you reading the errors in the INFO screen in the OBC (accessed with the lower stock to the left of the steering wheel), or on the small display below the tach? And which PASM error are you getting? "PASM failure" or "PASM indicator faulty"?

I'm reading them at screen below the tach, it indicates "PASM failure". When the car is turned on nothing happens (everything works fine...) until the car moves, then the fault appears. I've read here on the forum that usually that fault is associated with changing the suspension springs, but that H&R model is supposed to be compatible.

Good luck sorting this out. I checked, and the owners manual says to take it to a dealer if you get the "PASM failure" fault code.
