Acquired a 2012 Carerra GTS

After mulling it over a lot, test driving the new 991 several times, I opted to go for a used GTS when one came up for sale. While the 991 is a nice car, I love the looks, I was disappointed in the drive. My knee didn't like the raised center console, and the feel felt somewhat removed - too sterile.

So I decided I'll have a 997 forever, and why not the best one. I'd wanted a GTS when they were new, but decided to wait for the 991. But, I'm back. It's a blk on blk, with 5 lug RS Spyder wheels, painted silver. One selling point for me was the 5 lug, as didn't want to deal with the center locks.

All in all, am happy with the car. Though I think I'm more likely to get into trouble with this than my 05 Carerra - it really wraps out pretty fast!

Only thing I'd change is the dials, which are Carerra White. I'd prefer black. Does anyone have experience with the FVD dial faces sold through Suncoast?

I'm also thinking about a paint protection system. I've two dealers recommending different products - GTechniq and CilaJet. Anyone have experience with these? Anything to prevent swirls on the black paint!

Need pics! Just from experience, Suncoast is top-notch... I highly doubt there would be issues with the FVD dials.
+1 on the center locks. I've only heard they are annoying (mainly from the track guys), but easily changed to 5-lugs.

I know someone looking for white dials if you decide to change.

GTechniq is what I apply to all my clients cars when they want a ceramic coating. Amazing stuff.

Please post pictures. I have a white 2012 GTS that I love. You said you had 5 lug RS Spyder wheels. I thought the only wheels available as factory option were the RS Spyder CL wheels and the 5 lug Carrera Sport wheels.

Much love for the GTS! Be careful with those gauge covers. I've seen many that do NOT look anywhere as clear as stock.

Beautiful car, but those are not RS Spyder wheels that I think you said your car had in your original post. Those are the other wheels that were available on the GTS. I think they are called Carrera Sports.

The wheels look good, +1 bright wheels on a black car.

Happy Trails.
