with this steering wheel, the new aluminum one, mine the old 997.1

 

I love that steering wheel I think is just the best looking out there, any one know if my airbag works where I can find one in good price other than ebay?

 

The 987.1 round airbag will not work on the newer steering wheels. On the new wheels, the horn is activated by pressing on the center portion of the wheel, rather than the sides, which requires a different airbag design.

 

I've had my 997 for 8 years and 40K miles now. Preferring the accelerator pedal to get me out of a jam I seldom reach for the horn. When I do I still invariably end up pounding on the steering wheel center and shouting out WTF!
