Spark plugs change and gundo and it's a new car

I think I solved a rough idle that has been bothering the car. Injectors cleaned, engine mounts changed, throttle cleaned. Rough idle still there. Coils and plugs were checked by dealer and they said it was ok. I however decided to change it still. Thanks to grayling and other for posts . The 997.2 is the easiest thing to change spark plugs no hassle straight forward. All we need to do is remove the mufflers. I decided to changed the mufflers with a gundo hacked pair. Let me just tell you all it's a new car http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...-car-image.jpg

All the plugs were the same condition. I think there is more reason why Porsche advices 4 year change of spark plugs. Sorry I did not take pics of the new ones but the ceramic portion of the old plugs have receded and the center electrode had wear. Very noticeable we're really the ceramic portion of the plugs. The old ones looked really worn compared to the new ones.. Whole process took 2 hours whereabouts.http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...-car-image.jpg

I have yet to see a spark plug with Porsche logos.

If the Porsche name begins to be on the plugs, I bet they would quadruple in price.

hahaha yup i would agree with you brother..totally agree with you. i never realized that our cars were so sensitive to even the spark plugs. i read somewhere that the maintenace was only for preventing the plugs from siezing on the cylinder heads. but this maintenace i did really helped improve my idle. i still cant believe and im still trying to think its my imagination since i worked on it, but it rreally has improved the cars idle.

Wheeler is infamous around these parts
I don't recall...were you also experiencing that hesitation/stumble around 2700 rpm?? I can't imagine changing plugs would help that issue but just curious. I have a service record showing my plugs were changed about a year ago....3000 miles ago.

what was the year and mileage of your car ?? I did mine to with only about 12K on the car but changed them due to the year (2009). Didn t want them to freeze in there. They did come out easy.
I also had just done the gundo myself so it was faster this time to remove them to do the plugs.

I had a real slight stumble upon initial take off when the car was cold, so I just did my plugs too, however with the tundra outside I have yet to see how it is. LOL

car had no stumble nor hesistation. its a 2010 with 28k kms. car performs flawlessly. no hesitation or any stumble when moving, whether slowly or rapidly, but i felt a somewhat lumpy idle. some say that its normal since its a powerful engine and its not a lexus. i try to observe the rpm needle and it too is as steady as a rock. but i do feel something in my seat. only problem was with idle really. the spark plug change helped that.
