All done now!
Finally the Porsche looks how it should - why on earth did they decide to use that Volcano grey colour?

Sprayed the radio and steering wheel Airbag rim a generic Satin black, 4 coats lightly sprayed. It is still cold here so I got a tiny bit of orange peel effect but I can live with it.
Colour - matches the radio buttons and other units perfectly!! Pure luck - I grabbed one of many - It appears my wife was wrong, I can tell the difference between colours - so long as they are black

Thanks to all who have posted how-to's - TYE, joelpirela & littlemilla3 - the removal and swap was daunting and your step by steps really helped out.

images in daylight below (i took a night shot to show all lights working!

Hi - for all that are interested in this change - it is not as simple as i first thought...

I did the change in Winter and all appeared fine but now the sun has started shining it isnt all good...

the Aircon was displaying fine on the system however it was NOT turning on - i put the old unit back and the A/C is working fine again - so I now have the old unit sprayed black but with the annoying crappy looking peeling buttons.

Anybody had any experience on this can lend a hand - I would really like to get the new unit working.....

so. I have no idea how to make this work...

press the Aircon button on or off and the temp is the same - no Aircon working at all. Display shows everything is working.

SO... I painted the old unit

looks OK but nowhere near as good.

If anybody has any ideas or experience I am all ears? do I need to remap a cable or something?
Damn
