Has a reported accident. Be careful. Get a PPI that includes a frame and paint check.

PDK is on the C2, C2S, C4, C4S starting in 2009. I'm loving the PDK (and I came from a long line of manuals) and as stated Sport Chrono is a must largely for the more aggressive shifting pattern on the PDK.

There are a lot of variations in the degree of leather in a car. My latest car is "full leather" which is really beautiful (although its not really "full"), the doors and dash are leather.

The Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE) is also very nice sounding but isn't found on as many cars as you'd think. While the 997.2s (2009 and up) have a better exhaust note than the 997.1 when fully stock, it is still a bit mild. I like it though, although I did add the Fabspeed X-pipe which added just a little more exhaust sound without getting loud.

A couple of less-common options I like in my C2S are the ventilated seats and heated steering wheel. Clearly in Texas the ventilated seats are great, in Miami I think they'd be great too. With the unusually cold winter for a cold-weather hating Texan the heated steering wheel was fantastic (as were the heated seats - they are both ventilated and heated). Not overdone but certainly great for warming the fingers in a cold car. It seems to be quite rare though.

My last contribution is: If you buy the car from a Porsche dealer, I'd recommend your last negotiation item after price negotiations don't seem to be going any further is to ask for the most recent PCM/Navigation update to seal the deal. I've gotten them to throw it in for free when I've asked. I also got new rock guards this way (clear film that protects the front face of the rear wheel flare).

Good luck and have some fun test-driving a few! Don't walk away from the PDK without at least trying it.

I forgot to answer a couple of earlier questions. The PDK is virtually instantaneous in shifting, there is no perceptible pause like in a Tiptronic.

The PDK is typically extremely robust. A recent testament to the robustness of the PDK can be found in this recent Road and Track review: http://kinja.roadandtrack.com/we-pro...ble-1541438319. While it is an even more sturdy version developed for the Turbos, it is still impressive and supposedly representative of the PDK found in all our cars.

The PDK is a lifetime system, you never change the clutches. (It is a multi plate wet clutch by the way).

Nice options take, StormRune. I have the ventilated seats and they are helpful for sure when it gets warm. Heated steering wheel is one of my favorites. A real plus on a cold morning. Won't change to a paddle shift steering wheel until there's an OEM option that preserves the heated wheel. Agree on full leather too. I have bi-color and like the contrast a lot. Wish I had the PSE. Hear the tires more than I hear the engine at cruising speed. Looking at options to change that. The iPod connector is nice to have too.

It's a different car in sport mode with the PDK.

I'd love to have the bi-color too, it's beautiful but I haven't seen many out there (which is also nice in its way too I guess).

Sorry, that was kind of a smart *** thing to post...but a manual is more fun for a FUN car. However, I see you're in Miami. This is one place even I would consider if not seek out a PDK car. Your traffic can really suck there and if you're commuting or using it daily that would get tiresome. I test drove an Audi S4 in Pompano Beach last year, dual clutch auto, and thought it might possibly be the perfect do everything car!

But do drive them both and see what you think!

No worries, not taken as smart ***.

I'm 44, and have owned my fair share of manual performance cars. After driving my buddies PDK Boxster, and as you said with all the hectic traffic here in Miami, yep, it's easy to see why I preference the PDK. But, as stated, it's not a deal breaker if I find the right car. Especially if a car with a specific color combo, condition and price comes along.

Good plan! I was set on WHITE...you can see what I ended up with! But once I saw the car and condition, low miles, etc. I knew I made the right choice. SO glad I went for a nice, low mile, options I wanted, well cared for example vs. getting hell bent on a particular color and accepting a bunch of wear and tear that I would have regretted. I'm so pleased with the car and the driving experience I can't express that enough. I've had mine since Oct '13.

Sweet looking car you have there. Unless we are willing to buy one new, we certainly have to compromise on color, options, ect. No way I'd buy one of these cars new, especially when they depreciate at least 30-40k in few years time.

If you look hard enough, a car with all the options you want will show up.

If you get a PDK, you'll want the sport chrono package.
Sport Chrono is kinda useless with 6 speed manual.
Heated / Cooled seats if you're into that.
Bluetooth / Ipod - These were options on the 2009 / 2010... it costs a lot to put it in later.
Bose - The stock system is bad... bose is slightly better.
C4S - If you like that wide body look.
Full Leather - Looks super nice... but hard to find on a used car.
Nav - it's decent in the 997.2. I use it since there's no easy place to put my iphone... unless you get a mount.
Power seats
Sport seats

Some of the things I'm glad I have on my car...

Power seats with memory

Sport Chrono - the chrono itself is sort of silly, but even in the manual it changes the throttle mapping and makes for more sporty twitchy drive. And there are a few PCM features you can tweak. And it's a good resale feature. Not a deal breaker but certainly not useless. PDK it's a must obviously.

PSE - if you add an X pipe to factory PSE you will want for nothing else in the way of exhaust...HUGE part of the driving experience for me.

Things I would like to have or would be a bigger deal to me on the next car...

Full Leather - it really does look nice.

Sport Buckets - Although my comfort seats are in no way bad.

GT3 -

Sport chrono on stick is still great. As Wheeler mentioned, it changes the engine mapping. But also change how the traction control behaves, it takes more time before it takes control back. I’m not quite sure about the following, but with sport mode off, if you get the wheels to spin in the corner of a street, it kick sin quick. With sport mode on, it seems like it let me drift it but as soon as I release the gas it brings the car back straight. Like if it let you play more…

It let you rev over 6800 RPM up to 7400RPM (cut off) nothing better than shifting right at cut-off under a bridge!

There is something with the brakes too. If you floor it and then release gas quick, it already start applying brakes a bit for you, saving you a split second if you jump on brakes (track use)

It allows you to turn DRL on. Which I need to import a US Porsche in Canada J

so it's a no brainer for me

I wanted a white coupe, 6 speed and traveled from NY to Ft Meyers Porsche to get my cs, 2009... Only HAD 5k, cpo.

you can try for a CPO, although I ve had no trouble in two years, they did replace the oil pan gasket and coolant plug gasket for free so far.
As mentioned already 09 had the fuel pumps replaced under warrenty (your should be done already but be aware).

I wouldn t worry about the PSE because for about $200 it can be modified (Gundo HacK) for perm. PSE if you need it to sound better.

At 4 years Porsche calls for spark plug replacement which is about a $700 dealer bill. I did mine myself but be aware 2009-10 would be due. I imagine brake fluid would be done already or a least due.

Good luck....
PM me if you need a contact at the Fla dealer I used. They did a nice delivery!
