Spacers! To do or not to do.....
Here are the best shots I have that fairly show the difference when viewed from behind. You can see from the temp tags that it was one of the very first things I did (I had removed them from my trade-in and put them right back on the new car). To me, the inset on the first photo just appears wrong to me now that I've gotten so used to the more offset look. I don't think the offset looks radical at all, just better.
While some of the spacers on the market are simple flat discs, the ones I have from Adaptec (there are others as well) are now fully hub-centric and wheel-centric so there is no misalignment. This means that the spacer has an inset on the center than allows it to mate tightly aroiund the lip on the hub, and also provides another matching lip that juts out that allows the wheel to mate properly with the center of the spacer. Here is my front spacer turned both ways. You can see the mating inset and lip. The gaps align with the factory-created mating surfaces on the hub.

It's my understanding there is no way to get the front flush without the danger of major wheel scrub if the wheels are pushed up while turning.
When I did have my spacers on, before returning them, the verdict was certainly out on the look. I have an S with PASM. I feel like my current stock height, wheels, car color, etc. looks pretty good in stock form, even from the side. I think wheel gap is certainly accentuated by a lighter car color. I felt like the 15 MM rear looked great from the back, front and top, but the straight on side view seemed to make the gap look weird or bigger. The front looked good too. If I ever lowered the car, then definitely would go with spacers or probably seek out some different offset wheels.
Thanks
