GTS Question
GTS Question
Hi
Am about to put my 996GT3 up for sale, and am considering the PDK-equipped 2011-2012 997GTS as its replacement. I am getting different information from dealers on the Sports Suspension (SS) and LSD options, and hoping someone here has good information.
First, I was told the SS "option" is standard on the GTS. I think that's settled now, and is identified as a $950 option. But what is unclear is whether the LSD is included in the SS, or is a separate option.
Whichever, can anyone give me a description of what the SS option consists? It continues to amaze me how uneducated some dealer sales folks are.
(BTW, my other consideration is the 2007-2009 Turbo.)
Thanks

My understanding is the 4GTS comes standard with limited slip (as all C4's do), but the RWD GTS requires the SS option at $950 to get it.
I found this from a test on AutoBlog:
"Our tester stickered for just north of $110,000 and came equipped with the bits that mattered, specifically the Sport Chrono pack ($960), Alcantara/leather buckets ($2,990) and Sport Suspension, which drops the GTS an extra 20mm and includes a limited slip differential ($950)."

Thanks. Over on Rennlist, got this, too:

Attached is the brochure page showing suspension details. PASM lowers the car by 10mm over non-GTS models, and SPASM lowers by an additional 10mm (20mm total) and adds mechanical LSD. Some people like the SPASM, others do not as you can see from the Rennlist posts as well as various articles. I have PASM which is absolutely fine for my kind of driving (I do not track at this time).

SS was only available for coupes, not cabs. SS always always came with LSD. There was no way to spec a GTS with SS but without LSD.
