WB = widebody, not necessarily AWD. GTS is WB, GTS4 is WB and AWD.

Wrong. Most GTS you see are the rear wheel drive variety.

Correct. This is one of the things that makes the GTS special - only way to get WB in a RWD 911, although it might have been possible in one of the GT cars too.

My order is GT3RS, GT3, Turbo, GTS, C4S, and down. GT2/GT2RS are outliers and are cost dependent. If I could afford, it I'd get a GT2 before a turbo.

GTS vs 2s :
-Wider Body, wider rear track vs Narrow body 2S
-305/30/19 rear tires vs 295/30/19 on 2S
-GT2 flared Side skirts vs no flare side skirts on 2S
-Sport Design front bumper looks more aggressive..
-Center wheel locks--optional with 5 lugs
-Rear seats delete... but most come with rear seat option
-Sport Pasm suspension. lower ride height than 2S
-408 hp Exclusive Power kit vs 385 hp for 2S
-Rear tail lights are clear on the upper half vs mostly red on 2S
-Deeper exhaust note... Sport exhaust option is common on GTS
-Exclusivity...

I would definitely go GTS over 2S. GTS is one of my favorite looking 997's next to the Sport Classic, GT3's and 4S.

Sport PASM is not standard on GTS. Not exactly sure about your comments on the taillights. As far as I know, the taillights on GTS are the same as a regular Carrera S, unless you happen to order the optional clear lenses. I have those on mine. You also mention that sport exhaust option is "common" on GTS. Sport Exhaust is standard on all GTS models, at least those sold in North America. It comes with the power kit engine that all GTS cars have.

thanks everyone for the info. my wife's car is a 2011 c2s cab w/ pdk, sport chrono, pse, pasm, leather, carbon pkg, along with few other options. I was considering upgrading it to a GTS, but was having a hard time finding a cab with similar options. Now I'm thinking that the difference may not be significant enough. I also have a 2011 gt3rs so maybe there's no need for the GTS.

oops, your right, my bad on tail lights, Saw them on a GTS recently and forgot they were an option. Nice to know sport exhaust is standard too. Great car.

If you want even more exclusivity I think the C4 GTS would be an awesome choice too. Although I am a little biased to all wheel drive
best of luck with your decision...

I would suggest the GTS - bang for the buck you are getting alot of car for the money. If you plan to track the car you'll be pleasantly surprised. You can take this car deep into the corners with amazing speed.

I really like my GTS, thought about a slightly older turbo but I opted for lighter weight and naturally aspirated over the power of the turbo. I also really enjoy having something a little different, here in California I see so many Carrera S vehicles every day but I have yet to actually see another GTS while I'm driving around. Im not tracking the car yet but I'll figure out how to deal with the center locks once it's time.

P.S. The standard sport exhaust + SharkWerks bypass pipes sounds so exquisite. Highly recommended!

And here I was thinking just the opposite as the regular GTS is the only widebody with 2wd except for the RS lineup. That's what makes a market I guess...
