Good thinking. If the 2008 is 10k cheaper than a 2009 with 11k miles, would be a good buy on a logical and monetary standpoint.
The manual in a 2008 will be more desirable, so resale should be good when it comes time to sell. Nice color!
Mechanically, should be very similar to the 2009 besides the engine. I would do a double take on the PCM. GPS and "computer" designed in the early/mid 2000s have higher chance of going haywire. One of my other car's factory GPS and CD player starting going haywire and it was a pain. To replace, over $1k.. ugh. Bluetooth is nice to have, but I only use it 25% of the time (I even forget to turn on my bluetooth on the phone). If you don't turn on the radio and know where you're going, you'll be fine. But as a DD without the radio and looking at my phone for directions, I find it frustrating. But you saved 10k!
With your must options, it shouldn't be hard to find another low miles well took care of car. I must say porsches are easier to find low miles and taken care of because it's many people's weekend cars. However, they are mostly sold to a dealer so I've found that exhausting (just give me your lowest price!). Prices vary quite a bit.. I found the summer months to be more expensive.
Good luck with getting the C4!
