Dragon in May

I just finished a great pcar roadtrip, including the Cherohala Skyway to Tail of the Dragon. We had a great early evening run, north to south with some moisture on the tarmac, but NO traffic nor Police. Since a lot has been written about traffic, bikes and tickets, I was happily shocked to run the length with no one; we only saw three vehicles heading south. The speed could have been a serious issue, if there had been an observer, but only Killboy was on hand. I can check this off the list.

Well maybe I'll return, someday !

Nice photo. Glad you had the rare clean run on the Dragon. FYI, in the photo you appear to driving from the South to the North (Deals Gap Store is on the southern end).
I believe this is the same corner headed South.

Dragon Map / Model

I shot this snap of the model of the Great Smoky National Park, west boundary, the Tail of the Dragon, or Tapoco Road North Carolina. The roads vertical path is a great part of the fun.

BrakingBad: I saw your posted photo a few days prior to the trip south. Amazing that the shots are nearly the same framing.
