I have 457 miles on my 3.6 997. I have followed break-in procedures to the letter. The car, according to the oil level checker, has used 7 ounces of oil in that period of time. (3 weeks)
Cause for concern??
On second thought, that would translate to about a quart in a thousand miles, wouldn't it? That sounds pretty much normal.

 

i topped mine up at 2500 miles, sounds pretty normal to me

 

Normal and similar to mine. I went through a quart the first 1K as well and another quart the second 1K miles. It seems to be holding steady now. My dealer said that the 997 will burn oil for the first 5k.
