US$2k is a good price if the workmanship is good. One of the most popular wrapping shop in HK quoted US$4k for a full wrap, they are know to be the best in HK (subsidiary of a US company, I believe).

I'm DESPERATELY waiting for my new full bodykit and wheels to arrive in 5 weeks time. Most likely full wrapping will be next ;-)

Looks nice, if it was $2K here, I would do it in a heartbeat, it's 3x the price here and most of the shops here don't do it enough so I don't feel confident enough to spend $6K to find out if it's a quality shop. I agree, silver, gray, white, and black are boring colors.

I love it! How did the wing come out? Is there a visible seam inside the wing since it has to be wrapped all the way around. That would be the only area where it would be obvious that the car was wrapped.

btw for those who ask if this is gloss. Check out this 991 with the same wrap. This vinyl is sick!

Congratulations, your car looks gorgeous! I used the same 3m intense blue wrap last year on my 997.1. After a year on the car, scratches and water spots are visible. You have to be super careful when washing. I'm thinking of waxing but the 3M website doesn't recommend it. Overall, I'm still very pleased.

Simply amazing on how this car generates smiles. It certainly wasn't that way when it was silver. I almost feel like a celebrity...

Simply beautify! I think either this or yellow will be my choice of color when I wrap mine.

dw.metro - I'm considering the Getty ducktail, but am unsure how it handles rain / water. Does rain water getting into the engine bay directly from the air vent opening from the top?

The installer gives me 2 year warranty on labor and parts. They will gladly redo any body panel if any problem arise over the next 24 months. Painting the car is still the best idea and costs the same as vinyl wrap. I may be selling the car in the near future. Non-factory paint often generate questionable history for potential buyers. installer said the vinyl is very easy to care for. However I will stick to only hand wash, no high power washer, no machine polishing. I will only use wipe on walk away product such as Ultimate Paint Guard Plus or Zaino ZAIO or Z2 on the 3M 1080 Vinyl. The car is parked indoor garage only. Was told it can last up to 5 years or longer if carefully cared for.

can you at leash polish it to remove surface contamination and swirls?

Fought the turbo urge with a $2000 wrap job, can't beat that. I had to fight the $30,000 for 125 hp(and a less attractive body) urge, as well. Now the top contender is a 981 Cayman S.

As per the 3M website, heating it up with a hair dryer or heat gun may take out some scratches. Cleaning with 1:2 ratio of isopropyl cleaner and water should freshen things up.
