Third radiator install, leaky pipes?

I installed the third radiator kit from Porsche (great sale price from ECS) and everything went great. I left the front bumper off and tested it and all looked great, but after using the car for a few days I noticed 2 small puddles of antifreeze under the car. Looks to be just where the hoses connect the side and front radiators. I made sure to snap the hoses in completely, is there some type of sealer I should have used?

I cleaned up the floor and just took a long drive to heat up the system and parked the car in the garage over a piece of cardboard so I can get a better idea of where it is comming from before I have to remove the nose again. What a weird system, O rings and clips, what about some clamps!

FYI, I didn't use any sealers. I would double check the connections if I were you.

Everything snapped roght in for me. No leaks and i actually said the modern way is so convinient. I would think you dislodged the orings when you pressed in the hoses.

i did mine "on the fly" - didnt even drain anything before connecting, simply took out plugs/connected the 3rd rad hoses quick before much drained out. and everything fine so far - 10k+ miles, 20+ track days.

Karl... I too ordered this kit, but no dice getting it delivered to me yet...backordered.
What kind of time did you spend installing this kit?
good luck with the leak!

I have had the kit on my car for quite some time now.

the first time I ordered the kit from Suncoast installation went perfect.
Then it started leaking not too long after, from the Radiator itself.
I thought it would be the pipes also.. but it was from the radiator itself.

Ryan at Suncoast was very helpful and did a exchange for me after inspecting my leaking radiator. (I sent it back)

I got the new kit and it's been on for some time now. It works great with no problems!

I've had one on my car for about a year with no sign of leaks. I've also not noticed any difference in temps from the installation in normal driving either, so I'm not sure the third radiator has any practical value on cars that are not tracked other than looking cool.

I has the same problem and in my case I had installed the pipe,on the drivers side wrong. They are marked with a dot on one side and I had misunderstood where the side with the dot goes. After I turned the pipe around everything's good now.

I had a similar issue, where a hose was not properly seated. When the engine was warmed up, it started spraying coolant everywhere. Luckily I tested prior to driving or it could have been a bigger mess.

O-rings and clips means they can design the system to ensure the join is at the proper compression. If it is leaking, a damaged o-ring or debris in the o-ring seal area are possible causes.

Also look to be sure the leak isn't elsewhere and just running down to where the joins are located and puddling there, fluid leaks can be very misleading on where the actual leak is (stupid gravity and surface flows)

Jb, you sure you installed a third rad? Hahahah. Well after i did my 3rd rad install, normal driving oil temps went down on the first long drive.. And more importantly, it became more stable, meaning less fluctuations. Now it almost always at 90c, my car is row, under normal driving temps. Possibly trapped air causing no benefit in temps bro? And of course to the op...what. Minok said

I used some posts here and on pelican for directions to remove the front bumper and for the radiator installation. My son helped me, the bumper removal easier with four hands. Not hard at all, it took us 3 hours total and we took a brake to eat dinner.

I am sure I clipped the hoses in and heard the click on each connection. I did run it with the bumper off to check for leaks.

Well I took it out again and got it really hot and parked it over some fresh cardboard, no leaks! I hope it's not a intermittent problem.

I also got the radiator for insurance during the summer at DE's. More for oil cooling than water, my next investment is a new water pump and a 160 degree thermostat. My oil regularly is at 250-260 degrees during a run.
