time for new tires?
time for new tires?
the insides of my rears are more worn than outside..I can see the wear bars.
If u can see the wear bars is the tire still driveable. Or can I drive it till the wear bars disappear

Well, technically you can keep going until the wear bars are gone, but you run a HUGE risk of poor wet weather performance (hydroplaning) and the potential that because of the funky wear, you can actually get down to the cords before the wear bars are gone. I have seen that as well.
Better question is why are they wearing like that?

The general rule is to change them as soon as the wear bar becomes even with the wear surface of the tire. Sounds like time for new tires. The camber that helps our cars (and most other real sports cars) corner better also causes the inside to wear out first.

Those rears can go pretty quick, and the insides can wear pretty far down without you noticing until you catch some slick pavement (heavy fog in the mountain twisties, or light rain) - and then you'll notice right away.
Mine were feeling a little slippy one morning in the mountains, and I made a mental note to check them. A few days later got it on the rack and saw threads showing on the inside, but the outers were fine. I could not see this without really getting down to look, so take the time every now and again.
My rears were almost 10 months old, so I figured they were getting due, but they were beyond done.
I ordered the new ones, & they've been on about 10 days. I picked up a nail this morning. It bent inside the tire and gutted the sidewall before leaking down to about 15 psi.
Time for ANOTHER new one. Oh well. wanna play, you gotta pay.
That's 6 Michelin PSS rears for me since September - 2 non-repairable flats, and 1 set burned down to the threads, and the new set I'll probably be replacing around this time (probably a little sooner) next year.
Personally I would replace as others have said, as soon as the tread is even with the wear line, maybe just a shade sooner.
If you've got some tread left on the old ones, it's a good idea to hang onto at least 1 in case you get an irreparable flat and the replacements are on backorder. (It happens) Having an old PSS in the garage saved me today.
{I'd post a pic right here but it never works on mobile for me.} oh look at that. It works.
