I'm having my new GT3 Tek lip painted this week, should be ready on Saturday, but I couldn't help to notice that there was something missing from my front bumper, I really don't want to get into changing the whole front bumper and I always loved how the big air intakes look, i've always wondered how it would look if I were to paint the middle intake bar in Black so it would fade away, finally I saw another member that had done just that and I liked the look, so I went and got some plasti dip, here are some pictures, waiting for it to dry, I'll post some pictures once it's dry and have the lip attached, good thing is that is plasti dip, so if I don't like it I'll just peel away

Actually the red on the front bumper are stickers. I started with plastic-dip but worried that it would not hold because of the smooth connection between the middle intake bar and the bumper and there's nothing for the plastic-dip to "grip" onto. So I quickly changed to sticker / vinyl wrap.

But the red on the mirror is plastic dip, which is still holding up very well after 10 months.. been thru cold, HOT, dry and RAIN!

Currently traveling out of state. As soon as I get back, I'll shoot you a pic. I plastidiped in red the "ailerons" and the bottom part of the mirrors. I plastidipped in anthracite grey the top of the mirrors, the wheels (turbo wheels), and the metallic strip around the windshield (I have a black convertible). I plastidipped in "smoke" the rear tail lights.

Always fun, knowing that I can remove the stuff. The texture of the plastidipped areas is more rugged, and less glossy, despite using the glossifier and following the recommendations.

So I finished the plasti dip and I got my lip back from the painters, I also decided to paint the center fake intake all the way, it has a strange red lip inside of it not sure why, finished

Wow, it looks great!

Did you end up spraying the entire fake intake for a consistent color/tone or just the red lip?

Just the lip, but you can't tell the difference.

I do not like plastidip in general, but I like this idea and it looks good!

Especially, the red accents on black, quite bold move, but seems to have paid off!

Martidamm, you need to change your avatar now!
