Lowering springs

I plan on lowering my base 997 this week. I am leaning toward the H&R Sport springs, but have no personal knowledge of how they perform. I want a very firm ride for street use only.
Any comments appreciated. Other brands?

Thanks

Doc

Keep those cards and letter coming in folks. Hortense and I read everyone at night in front of the fireplace, while enjoying a gallon of wild turkey.

Thanks for all the suggestions and comments. I'm getting Eibachs. Should have them on this next week. 1.5 to 2" difference should make a big difference.
PS Please write, I'm so lonely!

I really like the stance on his car. Thats the look I am trying to achieve. My car looks awfully high.

Doc, I did the H&R's and ride height is lowered by 1.2" all the way around. The ride remained close to stock.

TonyNJ,
Do you notice a difference in the already fine handling of your 997.
The steering response on my stocker is very, very precise as it sits. The more I drive mine (575 miles so far) the more I am impressed.

The H&Rs are awesome and the car handles like a slot car. The handling was great when stock, but it is surely on rails now. The ride is near stock and barely noticeable. The look is more aggressive and does not rub! Go for it!

Doc, I came out of a fully modified 600 HP 996 TT and as far as handling goes the 997 is incredible. The spring's tightened thing's up a little and took away the stock 4X4 look. I am only keeping the 997 until my 997TT comes but am very surprised at how well these 997's perform. The only downside is the rubber air shield on the bottom of the bumper scrapes everything.

Synergy's car doesn't rub, while Tony's does. I guess I just play it by ear when I get mine back. My 04 Corvette rubbed badly in my driveway, and it was stock height. I'm still looking forward to the new springs. Thanks guys for responding.

When you put H&R's on have them do your alignment as close to GT3 set up as you can...Mine handles awesome and is rid of most understerr now!

Hello Gentlemen,
I just had my 997 lowered last week with the H & R Springs through Sharkwerks, same person as Synergy's. I think the look of the car is incredibly better, more sleek, fatter, totally cool. I wonder why the stock ride is so darn high anyways. I really love the look. I will post pics later today, I took a bunch of new pics, all angles. The ride feels stiffer for sure, and the car handles better. The springs are too stiff to ever rub, thats my girly opinion so far, but oh baby, a dip in a intersection gets a slight rub, and at high speeds be careful, its the front guard that concerns me, not ever rubbing on tires. Sharkey did a great job, and I recommend him to do your car.

Please note: Its the front guard that scraps in that intersection dip, not the TIRES!! The Springs are too stiff and cool

Doc, I think what Synergy means by rubbing is his tires. Mine does not rub the tires and I am running my old TT wheels and tires which are 295's in the rear with 11" in width. It is extremely agressive and still no rubbing with the body.

Tony,
Glad you mentioned your TT rims. I saved mine when I traded in my 2001 TT and they are collecting dust in my garage. Mine are 18". I might powercoat mine some really cool color and use them as an alternate.
BTW you have a great selection of cars. I have my old 87 Vette vert that I'm kinda restorings (why?) and a 2005 MBZ 350 SLK 6 speed.
