Extended warranty

Just wondering what third party warranty you guys are using and what your deductable is.

I've been slowly putting the pieces together after looking at a couple of 997's.

I have the Fidelity Platinum that covers my '10 4S 6 speed until 2019. Cost me about $4K with no deductible and fully transferable.

I imagine the great majority of people who take the time to review are pissed, but even considering that this is still pretty ugly.

this isnt necessarily a rule for everyone but if you have owned porsches for a while and go to the same tech/dealer it might be worth going with whatever company they suggest (assuming the reviews are good) they might be less likely to deny things and might be more prone to fight on your behalf if its something they reccomended to you.

im surprised to read the bad reviews about fidelity, seems everyone ive ever heard talk about fidelity had nothing but good things to say, it seemed like they were the most highly reccomended of all of them in the threads ive read. I doubt theres any warranty company who doesnt have bad reviews, things arent covered, people get pissed, they write bad reviews.

I would be interested if someone who has had a good experience with a Fidelity claim would chime in to offer some more perspective.

My local Porsche dealer ( service manager) told me they never had a problem dealing with Fidelity for repairs. I purchased a 7 year/ 70k mile policy with a $100 deductible for about $3,100 in 2012 for my 2008 C2S. The mileage limit is more than adequate for this weekend ride.

Dealers make huge profits on Fidelity warranty. This is the reason they push it.

No, but I have been told by sale personnel that they get good commissions and also the dealer gets a cut.
