Any backseat difference between coupe vs. cab?
Any backseat difference between coupe vs. cab?
Is there any difference in the backseats between a coupe and cabriolet? I have a 3 and 6 year old which both use booster seats. I'm wondering if there is any difference between the 2 models that would affect me fitting booster seats in the back or limiting their legroom causing me to push forward the front seats?
Same Legroom, I believe
I believe that both the coupe and cabriolet have the exact same leg room, but the seat back in the Cab is more upright, and the headroom is slightly less.
For a child out of a "real" child's or infant's carseat this does create a legroom difference, and the carseat definitely sits slightly more forward.
My children were 8 & 10 when I bought my 997, so the legroom was not different as they were transitioning out of booster seats (the younger girl was at an age where it was legal to go without but she was using them in our other cars). But the loss of height and the slightly more uncomfortable angle of the seatback meant that I only considered the coupe. The 10 year-old is now 11, but she is already 5'4" and taller than either of her grandmothers. I anticipate I will need any additional headroom and quickly.
For your case, if you are going to use a booster seat does not have a back, it should not affect legroom. But a booster with a back will probably be impacted and you may lose an inch or so of legroom in the back as the booster "might not" fit against the back of the seat bottom. If the booster has a flexible joint, it might not lose legroom in the Cab, but the child might have a higher probability of flopping forward when napping due to the angle difference.
You will need to test fit these, as I could not fit either of my boosters (Clek Olli backless and Britax Parkway with back) on the seat bottom so that it sat safely. They are too wide for the narrow seat bottom. I would have to remove the seat bottom if I wanted to use either of these. So in addition to shopping for the Porsche, you may need to shop for new booster seats with narrower bottoms. In my case, we used the new 997 as my 8-y-o graduation out of the booster.

thanks for the information. I have heard that the cab back seats are more upright. My boosters do have a back so I probably will have to buy a bottom one only. Any recommendations on bottom only boosters out there that fits nicely?
I use these with the factory seat bottoms removed: http://www.target.com/p/cosco-no-bac...=cosco+booster
It's perfect for my 2 boys who are 4 (on the taller side of most 4 year olds) and 7 (average 7 year old height).
