You might have promised to sell him your car but there is no guarantee he would've bought your car. For all you know, he might have other cars lined up to look at or purchase. He can also say "sorry buddy, I'm interested in another 911" and you're the one on the receiving end.

It would be wrong if he spent money towards the transaction. If so, the right thing to do is reimburse him for expenses. Other than that you don't owe him anything other than an apology.

agreed, the fact that you feel bad tells me you are not a jackass. He has to understand that deals fall thru all the time. Better than if you got rid of the 911 and had to shop for another one next year again. Your car is fantastic looking!

Why would a guy in CA purchase a car from Hawaii? And then have to pay to have it shipped to him? (Unless he's planning on keeping it there at his vacation home.) Send him to Livermore Porsche -- when we visited they had like eight used ones on the lot. Unless he's looking for something very rare, he should be able to find one within a 50-mile radius of his house or office.

Malexgcab/cerbomark - The man seem very sincere about the whole process, he wasn't a tire kicker type and because of that I feel guilty for not keeping my words.
32Krazy- sound like a good idea. I will send him an email, but asking for his address might give him a wrong idea. Any suggestion?
Dalancroft - he told me that my car is exactly what he was looking for. But I will send him your way.

While I admire your concern, I think you are over-thinking this and should just let it go at this point. You've given him your sincere apologies and I assure you this is enough. More is too much and could cause greater concern (as you noted about the address).

Best wishes and enjoy you re-discovered attachment with your car.

Gotgolf52, don't feel bad, sell him your car. It's natural to move on after the project is complete, which it looks like it is!
Looking at an R8 or 430? I've got one word for you, turbo! It'll give you everything you have now and will smoke either one of them. The power is intoxicating, even well below 100 mph. The low RPM pull is nothing like a regular 997.
