Seller remorse. Can my fellow 6speeders talk me out of this deal

I bought my first 911 about a 15 months ago, it was in immaculate condition and still is. However, lately I have an urge for Audi R8 or an older Ferrari F430. I put my car on CL and someone offering full asking price pending PPI this Monday. I love my 911 S Cab A LOT, and now I have seller remorse. After all the mods and making the car looking much better than when I bought it, I can't seem to let it go. Plus I have full waranty for another 5 years from Costco which they no longer offer on P car. Can anyone make some senses to me, I like Ferrari but I hate paying high prices for maintenance. Audi R8 is a good looking car, but is it fun to drive? Any advice my 6speeder friends?

If your not sure, you need to test drive an R8 or a Ferrari before selling the 911. I'm a Porsche guy so for me there is no substitute. Even though the cars you listed are nice for me I could only have those with my 911, not instead. Just my 2 cents.

Good luck

Ken

Thanks Ken. I test drove an R8 but not enough drive time to feel the car handling. There are not too many F430 in Hawaii for sale, if I decide to get one properly from the mainland.

I owned a gearshift 430 coupe as well a other Ferrari's and I will say this if there is one car I regret selling it is that car. I would NEVER own any Ferrari with those idiot paddles which is why the new models hold no interest to me. The R8 (unless you turn into RWD) is about has exciting as watching grass grow. I made the first RWD (my 04) Gallardo and it transformed the car from handling like a pickup truck to amazing. The only down to a Ferrari is the attention (which I Hated) 430's are not that expensive to maintain. If you want a Ferrari and you don't know about them go to Ferraichat learn and if it were me I'd only buy from a dealer. Algar Ferrari is a few minutes from my house (I have bought about a dozen cars from them) and I'd be glad to put you in touch with them. Good luck.

Keep your car until you find another you can't live without.

Seller remorse

Mr Price - I really appreciate your input. My friends told me F430 is an amazing car, but unfortunately I don't have any 430 on the island to test drive. I will look into FerrariChat forum for more info.
Ksozay - I think I will keep this car and add F430 down the road to my stable
Gpjli - not sure if you are giving me advice about car or psychiatric but thanks anyway
Steve997S - here is my car after a good wash

Nice looking car. So I lived in Honolulu for 3 years. You know what a PITA it is to park pretty much everywhere, and having a car that's easy to maneuver is essential on that island, especially in Honolulu. The Porsche would be far easier to live with than either a R8 or 430. Those cars are not made for slow maneuvering. Plus the more power you have, the less you can stab the throttle. Another characteristic of O'ahu is you don't ever see triple digit speeds, or no where close in 98% of your driving. Last point as previously mentioned, the Porsche is unassuming, so it doesn't draw a crowd. Drawing a crowd isn't necessarily a good thing. Sure cruising through Ala Moana park in the Ferrari might be amusing, but scrapping the bottom and front end over bumps all the time won't be. Save your money and stick to the Porsche.

In your post, you said "I love my 911 S Cab A LOT". You just answered your question about whether to keep it or not. You put quite a bit of time and money into this car. Enjoy the fruits of your labor/money/time. You can always add other cars to your stable over time as you see fit. I gather this was an impulsive moment in your decision making?

Steve- Yes Hawaii road sucks, except for H3 but only for a short burst. Thank you for kind words.
808C2S - yes it is an impulsive moment, I saw a good looking F430 for sale by fellow 6speeder, after convince the wife to let me make an offer for the F car, she agree only if I sell my 911. But I think I will keep my 911 for now.

I say keep the P-car. You'd regret selling it, and it looks like an awesome ride.

Give yourself a 6 month rule not to look into any other cars (and use the 911),, I find sometimes the urge passes and that means that s all it was. Nice 911.

Thank you everyone for your advice. There is a twist to this story, I promise a gentlemen from CA that I would sell him the car, but now I am backing out from the deal. I am feeling so terrible and after a couple of apology emails, it still bothering me. I put myself in his shoe and I see me as a total jackazz. The good thing is I didn't take any deposit or spend his money on PPI. But in principle, it was just wrong. What can I do to make things better on his part?
