Price check - 2008 C4S

Greetings guys,

Wanted to get your thoughts on the pricing of this car:

sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/4650869972.html

One other note, he claims its a C4S, but the badging doesn't shoe the #4 on the back? Maybe he changed the badging or I'm mistaken.

Thanks for your help

The ad also says the engine is a 3.6 -- not an S at all, which is 3.8. I'd steer clear.

I don't think it's 4S.

Ask for picture of engine bay to confirm if 3.8 or 3.6 as well as VIN.

The White gauges make it look like an S but the rear pics don't look like a 4S. Very possible he just has no idea what size litre the engine is. I think that price is in line with a 4S not an S. So you may want to negotiate on price. Personally I don't like the rims so I would use that as another negotiating point. One mans "upgrade" is another man's "that's stupid and/ or ugly" haha

Definitely a C2S. That's a narrow-body. C4s & C4Ss are wide-body.
That's packaged almost exactly like mine & has similar mileage. You should be able to get it for $45K or less.

Heh, a C2S advertised as a C4S with a non-S engine.

Those look like Champion Motorsport RG5 wheels in the pics. They are super light, forged, and run about $6k a set new.

6k for those? Wow.

@OP - if you like the car, offer <45k and then sell those rims. At the end of the day, you might be paying in the high 30's :-)

looks to me like a legit S model that he might have accidentally or purposefully put 4 there for to attract more lookers

I would stay away. Going by the description, the seller has no clue what he's selling which may mean the only thing he has related to the car is pictures. Wouldn't be the first time on craigslist.

Appears the VIN # is invalid too. Tried to pull it up on three different sites and all three rejected it.

May be a "wheeler dealer" trying to make a profit on a car he knows nothing about, is he the owner? How long has he had it? I wouldn't buy it just because if that is the case he knows nothing about the car's history.

And I can almost assure you it's not. The missing "4" on the badge goes between Carrera and S so if the 4 just fell off there would be a gap. Since there isn't, you have to believe that someone removed the 4, then pulled off the S and moved it closer to Carrera. Fat chance.

Here is the official build sheet from Porsche: https://admin.porschedealer.com/repo...AA29928S710919

It's a C2, not an "S" and not a "4."
